Electric Cars in Serbia: Where Are the Fastest Chargers and How to Plan Your Trip?
Traveling by electric car through Serbia is no longer an uncertain adventure. Thanks to intensive infrastructure investment, our country now offers a network of ultra-fast chargers that allow you to recharge your battery during a short coffee break. The key to a successful trip lies in knowing the locations of the most powerful chargers and using the right navigation apps.
Fast vs. Ultra-Fast Chargers
When planning a trip, it's important to distinguish between AC and DC chargers. AC chargers (up to 22kW) are great for city charging while shopping, but for the highway, you need DC chargers. Fast 50kW DC chargers are standard at most stations, but the real revolution is ultra-fast chargers (150kW, 175kW, and over 300kW) located at key points along Corridor 10 and Corridor 11. These can charge most modern EVs from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes.
Key Ultra-Fast Charging Locations
The highest concentration of the fastest chargers is around Belgrade, and at toll plazas near Subotica, Šid, and Niš. Tesla Supercharger stations are available in Belgrade, Aleksinac, and Niš, and are open to all car brands supporting the CCS standard. Additionally, networks like Charge&GO offer ultra-fast chargers at major gas stations along the Miloš Veliki highway and through the Grdelica Gorge.
